The stunning carp fishing lake Etang de la Vilotte is over 200 years old and features on Napoleonic maps. With a total surface of 5 acres it sits in 15 acres of beautiful and peaceful woodland nestled in the Limousin natural park.
The entire lake is tree lined with a range of oak, silver birch, larch and fir trees.
The lake is quite deep, with depths from 3ft in the bay and 12ft at the dam wall. The water level is stable all year round as the lake is fed by flowing groundwater from underground wells, streams and rainwater. It has gravel and silty areas and features some over hanging trees, lily pads and two inlets from the streams.
Fish stocks include mirror and common carp to mid 50’s as well as perch, zander, rudd and roach along with a 45lb catfish.
The swims are located around the lake to give each angler plenty of space to do their best work!
